Weightloss Update

Good morning everyone! Well, I haven't posted for a while as things have been very hectic at work. I am currently at work believe it or not (yes, 6:45 on a Sunday morning!), but thought I'd quickly update it. I've done ok the last few weeks and have lost 8.5lbs this passed month. I'm pretty happy with that considering I struggle to lose weight usually. I confess that I have cheated a few times, and I get really mad with myself about it. Don't know why it's so hard for me to stick to it sometimes! Well, I got invited to my sister's for dinner last night and she made "potjiekos" which is a South African dish. It's basically a stew with for example chicken, potatoes, rice, assorted veg all put into a pot together and cooked on the flames of a BBQ. Very delish. I only had a little bit of it, but then my mom had baked milktart which is also a VERY delicious South African dessert. Obviously I had to have some! Mmm, bit worried now because I have weigh in tomorrow, so I guess we'll see.

I am planning on taking some more pics next week and will post to show my weightloss. Since I started back in February I've lost 1st and 3.5lbs!!!! Very pleased with that. Only 6st left to go!
Right, well I'm going to try my best this week to exercise more and to stop picking between meals.

Baaaaad weekend!

Hi everyone.
I got weighed on Friday morning, and I'd lost another 3 pounds, which means I've lost 7lb in two weeks! Absolutely chuffed to bits.

Unfortunately I've been to a wedding this weekend, and I overindulged slightly, I'm ashamed to say! There was a buffet and (shock-horror) a chocolate fountain!!!!!! Noooooo, I can hear you cry, but I'm afraid to say that yes, I succumbed. On the plus side - pre-weightwatchers I would've totally pigged out, but I only had one small plate of food and one choc fountain skewer with strawberries, grapes and marshmellows on it.

The bad thing is that I've been picking at everything today and I seem slightly off track. Determined that I am going to start afresh tomorrow morning (after I wake from nightshift). I will also be starting Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred tomorrow. I am dreading it, as I've heard that it can be intense, but she does give results. After this weekend I need to be punished! Hahaha.

Anyway, will let you know how it goes.

Back again!

Hello everyone, I haven't posted for a while coz I've been extremely busy with work, etc. Weightloss hasn't been going too well for me, as I've been yo-yoing on WW, so I've decided to try the Cambridge Diet. I've been on it for one week now and lost 4lbs in my first week! I thought I'd be very hungry and just want to eat on it, but surprisingly I've been ok. I'm actually feeling more positive than I have in a while and I am determined that I am going to stick to this 100%. I'm fed up of being fat!!! I haven't even bothered taking more pics since the last one, coz I hadn't lost anymore weight. I am next going to take a pic on the 5th of August to see if I can see a difference yet. I got measured on Saturday when I weighed in and in total I'd lost 7 inches too! Really chuffed. I have to straight back on the CD bandwagon, as I went to an engagement party tonight, and succumbed to the buffet! Only had a bit of chicken and some tomatoes and cucumber, but need to focus now.
Right, hopefully next time I post on here, I will have some pics and a weightloss update.

World Cup Fever!




Hello everyone! Well, World Cup is finally here. What an exciting start. I am feeling extremely homesick today, as I've been hearing about the fantastic atmosphere and vibe in Cape Town.




I hope South Africa does well, but other than that, I'm not really a soccer fan, to be honest.




Weightloss-wise I've had a nightmare few weeks where I've actually put on 3 pounds overall. My sister had a car accident and wrote of her car - luckily she's ok, my cat went missing and one of my friends from South Africa died tragically - all on the same day! I went into complete and utter self-destruct mode. I grabbed anything I could get my hands on to eat. I am still feeling pretty down, but I am trying to pick myself back up and get my life back on track. I've been tracking again for the last couple of days, so I'm hoping for a loss this week.




I am working three nightshifts this week, starting from tonight. I still find it difficult to stretch my points for 24 hours, especially since I'm awake for most of the time. It's a current challenge. I've been eating a lot of fruit the last couple of days, but my poor stomach protested yesterday, so I'm going to take it a bit slower. (Sorry if too much info!)




I haven't measured myself or taken photos this month as I've gained and it would demotivate me. Anyway, hope you all have a good weekend. Speak to you soon!

I put on a pound this week. Really gutted about it, but have decided to draw a line under this passed week and start again. I took my beautiful daughter to Kid's World today and instead of sitting down and watching her play, I joined her!! OMG, was I knackered afterwards! LOL. Good exercise, though. Wonder if I picked up any bonus points for it.... Forgot to wear my pedometer, though, so who knows.







Back on track today. I had some Belvita Biscuits and black coffee for breakfast, then a sandwich made with WW bread, lettuce, chicken tikka and extra light mayo, followed by a snack of WW yogurt and a WW choc bar. Feeling quite good about myself today. I'm about to do my Zumba session too. Think it's really working because my legs and arms especially feel very sore the next day!

Depressing week!

Hello everyone, I've had a pretty hectic week this week without too much sleep and definitely not enough exercise. All I've wanted to do is curl up under my duvet and sleep! I've also had a couple of bad days, so I honestly don't know what the scales are going to show at tomorrow's weigh in. It's been strange, because I haven't been able to concentrate on my weightloss this week, as I've been too excited dealing with my Monavie journey.

Right, whatever happens tomorrow, I will make sure that next week is going to be a super good week! I have learnt that there will be good days, bad days, good weeks and bad weeks. However, the key is not too give up. This time I am determined to reach my goal, no matter how long it takes!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow though. It will be lovely to show even half a pound off. I don't usually lose weight straight after a nightshift though, so we'll see....

I'll try and update my blog again tomorrow.

Hello all, as promised, I am including a few pics of our works night out. I have had a pretty rough week this week, and have had very little sleep during my nightshifts. This has unfortunately caused me to go back to bad habits and grab anything in sight to eat! Boy, am I bad!!! Anyway, today I've owned up to it and drawn a line. I've also finally taken the plunge to start a monthly photo diary to see my progress. Just wish I'd done it from the start, as I've almost lost a stone already. Anyway, the photos I'm adding were taken today and I currently weigh 15st 10.

I will update the photos once a month so you can track my progress too. I am determined that I will not give up on my weightloss goals this time. I WILL get back to a size 10/12 eventually.
Anyway, gotta go and get my little girl bathed and in bed, so goodbye for now. x

5% Reached!!! :-D







Hello everyone, hope you're well. I've just been to my weightwatchers meeting and am proud to say that I did it! I got my 5%!! I'm so proud of myself that I'm actually sticking to it. Obviously I've had ups and downs, but hey, doesn't everyone! I've still got tomorrow's meal out with my work colleagues to contend with, but I feel that I will manage it fine.

We went to Jeff Dunham (ventriloguist's) show at the London O2 arena on Saturday, and we found a South African Restaurant called The Spur. Obviously we had to sample the cuisine to make sure it was authentic. I did surprise myself however by asking for salad instead of chips and grilled chicken instead of crumbed!

Anyway, I think I'd definitely on the right track this time - finally!

Weightloss Update

Hello all,

Well, it's been a little while since I've last posted as I've been pretty busy. So far, after 7 weeks, I've lost 10 pounds in weight, which is good for me as I struggle with an underactive thyroid. It's not been an easy journey so far by any means, but I'm still sticking at it no matter what. I've been reading all the WW success stories and have really been inspired by those and also everyone on the WW forum. I know that someday I will get to my goal weight and will be able to say - Yes! I did it! :-)

I haven't really taken anymore photos of late, as I don't think I look any different. Maybe I should start taking monthly pics... we'll see.

I'm going out for a meal at the end of the month, as we hit all our targets at work. The company are treating us to a meal out. It's at a restaurant called Ask. I'm really looking forward to it, and am doing research now already to see what I can choose points-wise. I am also going to London on the 24th of April to see Jeff Dunham (Ventriloquist) at the O2 arena. Can't wait, as I've never been to the O2 arena before. We are going to stop by at the South African Spur Restaurant while we're there! I am not sure how I'm going to point the food, but I'm going to ensure that I eat lots of veggies from the salad valley.

As soon as I've been I will post some pics too, I promise.

Fresh Start!






Hello everyone,
Hope you're all ok. As promised, here are a couple of photos from my holiday.
I am finally back on track and have lost 4.5 pounds this week! Yay! Feeling quite motivated and have been doing Zumba workouts too. For those of you who don't know, Zumba is a Latin American aerobics workout. You can potentially burn 1000 calories per hour! It's great fun!

Anyway, I am quite positive and motivated at the moment. Had a bit of a slip-up yesterday night and had a portion of chips, but other than than, I've been ok.

Hope you all have a good week, and I'm gonna try and be extra good tomorrow. Here's to another good weightloss for this week! :-)

Back from holiday!

Hello everyone, I'm back from holiday. We left on the 6th of January when the snow was so thick that Gatwick Airport was closed. Panic quickly set in, until the ground attendant told us that we were gonna be transferred to Heathrow a few hours later. We boarded the airoplane and made our way to Doha, Dubai on Qatar Airlines. It was a long and uncomfortable flight, especially with a two year old. Then, once we'd arrived in Doha we were refused permission to leave the airport and go to the hotel which we'd booked and paid for!!! For 8 hours we wandered round the airport aimlessly - hungry, thirsty and very tired. 52 hours since the start of our travels we arrived in Caledon, South Africa where OH's family live. What a nightmare.

The holiday itself was lovely apart from the fact that I had a stomach bug halfway through and my little girl had chicken pox as well as the stomach bug. On the plus side, I did lose some of the weight I'd picked up in the first two weeks of holiday!

Looking back at the photos I am absolutely disgusted to see how big I look compared to my sister-in-laws and friends. Enough is enough. This year I am going to lose this darn weight!!!! I will upload a few pictures soon. My hubby had a bit of a mishap and had to have an operation whilst out in South Africa. He also happens to have all the photos on my external harddrive. I will post some photos as soon I receive photos. Thanks for reading!

New Year, New Me!

Good morning, everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic New Year celebration. I fell asleep before midnight, unfortunately so didn't see the fireworks! Gutted.

Anyhoo, I woke up this morning (at 4am) feeling very positive. I've decided to start 2010 with a new attitude and determined that this year I will sort myself out health-wise.

I've worked out my weightloss goals for this year. They are as follows:

From 1 Jan - 1 Feb - Silver 7
1 Feb - 1 March - 5% (11lb)
1 March - 1 May - 10% (23lb)
1 April - 1 Dec - min 4lb per month.
This will mean that my goal weightloss for Christmas 2010 = 55lb.

I have made a few New Years resolutions, although I'm going to call them commitments, as resolutions don't usually stick with me.
  • Stick to Weightwatchers
  • Exercise minimum 3 times per week
  • try and be more positive in my thinking
  • Focus on my family
  • Get the doctor to sort out my thyroid medication once and for all!

There! Simples.

Right, so far so good. Started this morning off with a scrummy Innocent smoothie and an apple and handful of raisins. Have planned for my lunch and snacks and now have 13 points left for dinner (and maybe desert).

Fingers crossed that my stubborn streak helps me win this battle this year.
